An Iranian nuclear scientist has been killed after a bomb was attached to his car in Tehran. Iranian officials are blaming Israel for the attack. It comes as the International Atomic Energy Agency announced it will send inspectors to Iran soon to discuss concerns over its nuclear program.
Iranian state TV says two assailants on a motorcycle attached a magnetic bomb to the car of an Iranian university professor working at a key nuclear facility, killing him and another person on Wednesday.
Iranian army continues military exercises
The elite forces of the Iranian army are continuing a military drill on the eastern border of the country. And the forces' commander in chief says his troops are ready to react to any possible attack.
The spokesman for the military exercise said the goal of the drill is to impart the experience accumulated in the Iran-Iraq war to the new generation of troops. He went on to say more strategic drills will be performed by the ground forces at a later time.
Ever since tensions began heightening between Western countries and Iran over its nuclear program, Iran has been flexing its military muscles and has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz.
