Bunderberg, a town destroyed merely over a year ago during the infamous floods of 2010, has been evacuated. Hospital patients have been airlifted to safety, and evacuation centres in the area have been emptied. Brisbane, the states capital, fought against strong cyclonic winds and flash floods that devastated 5000 homes and local businesses.
