The death penalty has always raised questions among Americans. New revelations, however, are raising even more eyebrows as it is surfacing that botched executions have led to the painful torture of many death row inmates. The Nation's Liliana Segura has researched lethal injection, and says that prisoner execution in Texas is more risky and has less oversight than the euthanizing of...lizards? In this interview, Segura says it is going to take some outside pressure before some states reevaluate what is turning out to be cruel and usual punishment.
