Local residents say Syrian troops in tanks and armored personnel carriers have begun a full withdrawal from the central city of Hama.
The city has been a flashpoint of the five-month protest in the country. Trucks arrived to upload those vehicles back to their camps outside the city. Syrian soldiers are clearing cement barriers, barricades and piles of garbage from streets.
Meanwhile, government tanks stormed two northwestern towns near the border with Turkey where one woman was reportedly killed.
